Possible Errors When Exporting Data
If you see any of the following issues, you may have a configuration problem with your email on your mobile device:
- Mail opens with data attached and accepts an email address but "Send" is greyed out
- Mail prompts for a mail account (listing Google, Yahoo, and other options)
NOTE: Your mail may have previously worked or you may use an app like Yahoo or Google without any issues. Something may have changed on your Apple mobile device.
Check Apple Mail Installed
Ensure that the Apple Mail app is installed, even if you normally use some other app for email. Look for the following icon
Apple Mail icon
or search on your phone by pulling the main desktop screen downward and typing "Mail" in the search box.
To install Apple Mail (or check if already installed if you cannot find it), open the App Store app, tap on the search icon on the bottom right, and type in "Apple Mail". If it shows "OPEN" on the right of the Apple Mail icon, then you already have it. If it shows a download icon (cloud with downward arrow)
Check Your Mail Account Configured
Open the Settings app and go down to "Passwords & Accounts"
Tap on Passwords & Accounts, and check if your mail account appears under "Accounts". If not, tap "Add Account" and follow the instructions to add your favorite email account(s).
Once set up, open the Apple Mail app to check if you can see your email. YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE THE APPLE MAIL APP IF YOU PREFER TO USE ONE OF THE OTHER MAIL APPS - it just needs to be present on your iPhone.
Check Your Mail Account Exports from Kenek Edge
Once you have confirmed Apple Mail is working, you should be able to return to Kenek Edge and successfully export data from your Apple mobile device.
