Overview

Due to a change in component specification by Apple, the iPhone 6 and 6+ audio port can cause problems with some peripherals.  In particular, peripherals that use the microphone line - such as the Kenek Edge sensor - may behave unreliably.

Symptoms include Kenek Edge app sometimes not recognizing sensor (Insert Sensor error), red light in finger probe going on and off if tugging slightly on connector, and Siri activating during use.  Low Signal is also possible but much less likely.

This issue ONLY effects some iPhone 6 and 6+ devices (not all).  It does NOT affect any iPhone 6S or 6S+ devices or any later models.

NOTE:  If you are seeing Low Signalyou may instead have a iOS configuration issue - have a look at our troubleshooting page first before requesting a spacer be shipped to you.

Resolution

A spacer can be added to the Kenek Edge sensor connector that keeps it from contacting the metal case of the iPhone 6 and 6+ body.  Once added to the connector, the sensor will behave reliably.

LGThealth will ship a spacer upon request to a Kenek customer - email info@lgthealth.com.  Please include your mailing address.
